People seek out a therapist who can help guide them–or their child–through their struggles to a better life. As a client or as the parent of a client, you want to feel you are in good hands, and be assured that the person you choose has the skills and the experience needed to help you effectively navigate your personal challenges, making your life happier, less stessful, and more productive. I have worked with children, adolescents, and their families for over 14 years and I strongly feel that I have yet to meet a person or family that did not have the potential to achieve the goals they set out to reach. Over the years, I have been repeatedly amazed by both the resiliency shown by the people I've met and by their ability to overcome adversity.
In my therapy practice, I use a variety of treatment modalities to both provide emotional support and seek meaningful solutions to the problems that pose barriers to your happiness. The primary approach I use is Narrative Therapy, a creative and innovative way to do therapy that focuses on developing effective strategies that people can use to reduce or eliminate the influence of problems in their lives. My approach is respectful, compassionate, and flexible and I am committed to helping you enhance your strengths.
It is a privilege to help children and their families move through their personal challenges and I take pride in providing unique and effective therapy approaches for everyone I see. Some of the areas this can be applied to in therapy include:
- Conflict or struggles in families and relationships
- Family separation
- Mental health concerns (i.e. anxiety, depression, adhd, etc.)
- Anger problems
- School/learning issues
- Parenting support
- Grief and loss
- Experiences of trauma
